Most of the times, I write faster only when I understand the subject well and have written on it several times before.
To write faster, you have to know the subject really well. Better if you have written on it multiple times before.
Then you should also experiment with different formats of writing. Blogs, memoirs, stories, interviews, try every format possible. This will not only expose you to different writing techniques but will also help you become more confident about your writing skills.
And then there's this habit that I am working on - to keep a diary. Herein this diary, I write down ideas about my blogs - and believe me, having topics ready helps a ton when you finally sit down to write blog posts.
Last, try to start with an outline - plan it little before you put your first word on paper or MS word. Think about what you want to write about, how you should begin, and how the end will possibly look like. Once done with this exercise, start out and write it all.
Don't get into the trap of wording - You can always edit your blog post later. But first, you need to write it down. So whatever you've got, just write it down.
Facebook, Gmail, etc., are great inventions but they also happen to be great distractions as well. So when you are writing something, just switch these elements off. You'll be more focused.
